SERVING IMMIGRANTS IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY
Harrisonburg and the greater Shenandoah Valley is home to individuals who collectively speak 70 languages and come from every corner of the globe. Our community thrives on its rich diversity, encompassing a wide range of backgrounds, vibrant cultures, and a shared aspiration for safety, happiness and living amongst neighbors in unity and peace.

We are dedicated to providing services rooted in the core values of trust, transparency, dignity, and respect. Shenandoah Valley Immigrant Resource Center was founded in 2023 by Makayla Samayoa. She has worked with the local immigrant community having provided immigration legal representation as a DOJ Accredited Representative as well as other services for over 5 years. She saw the need for more immigration legal services providers in the area and is passionate to be able to work directly with clients again!

Makayla brings her Christian faith to this work knowing that we are called to love and care for others, honoring one another above yourselves.
